REDEFINING UAV AUTONOMOUS FLIGHT CONTROL

The FCS20 is a fully integrated Flight Control System, which consists of an EC20 Processor Board and an application-specific SB20 Sensor Board. The EC20 Processor Board contains all circuits required for fast and efficient signal processing, as well as serial drivers. The SB20 Sensor Board contains all navigation sensors, power supply circuits and system interface circuits. The two boards are connected back to back through standard 2mm 40-pin headers.

EC20 Processor Board

The EC20 Processor board handles FCS20 processing and internal and external communications. The Texas Instrument Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and the Altera Stratix II Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) are respectively used for sequential and parallel processing. The DSP communicates with the FPGA through a 32-bit wide parallel bus. The FPGA interfaces to the SB20 Sensor board and other systems through four 40-pin headers.

SB20 Sensor Board

The SB20 Sensor/Power board is designed to be compatible with the EC20 processor board and provides three main functions: supplying regulated and filtered power to the system, supporting onboard and external navigation sensors, and serving as an interface to external components.
